News British Columbia E.C.B. to take on mediation role |
|
February 13, 2002 In a press release dated February 7, 2002, the British Columbia Ministry of Attorney General announced that it intends to expand the services currently provided by the Expropriation Compensation Board to include mediation. This proposal is included in a package of proposed reforms to the administrative justice system. The Expropriation Law Centre reported last summer in a story entitled "B.C. Administrative Justice Project announced" that the governement intended to review the relevancy of numerous provincial administrative justice agencies. The recent announcement appears to result from that study. No word on when legislation to implement this change will be introduced. |
